ANTICIPATED VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Position: Elementary Special Education Teacher – Probationary
Location: Murray/TBD
Position Available: Immediately
Supervisor: Building Principal and Director of Special Education
Requirements: NYS Special Education SWD Certification Grades 1-6 and/or Early Childhood Certification
RESPONSIBILITIES/SKILLSET:
- Support of students’ academic, emotional and behavioral needs as indicated by the IEP.
- Ability to plan for and develop differentiated learning plans within a structured learning environment
- Ability to develop IEPs including assessment, goals, modifications, and accommodations
- Tools and systems to progress monitor
- Experience implementing positive behavior reinforcement systems, collecting behavioral data and supporting students’ self-regulation skills
- Knowledge of stages of child development
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience in Integrated Co-teaching and/or Resource Room assignments
- Certification as a behavior analyst, a plus
