Title: Special Education – Program Teaching Assistant – Probationary
Location: Hommocks Middle School
Supervisor: Building Principal
Position Available: Immediately
Requirements:
Candidates must hold a N.Y.S. Teaching Assistant Certification

RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Support of students’ academic, emotional and behavioral needs.
● Ability to implement strategies and practices as directed by the special education teacher or school psychologist.
● Collaboration and communication with administration and staff on behalf of the student’s success.
● Monitor the health and well-being of students.
● Willingness to obtain and employ Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training.
● Data collection and implementation of behavior plans.
● Other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
● A professional, patient, and calm demeanor with children of all ages.
● Experience with children who have attentional, behavioral/emotional, and academic challenges.
